Since opening our doors in 2015, Bixie Colour has grown from a small team of three hair colourists and a salon manager to a dynamic, 18-strong team of talented colourists, stylists, apprentices and managers. Under the guise and tutelage of our fearless leader, Sheree Knobel, we have come a long way from that small team of four in the last few short, achievement-filled years.
Of all of the years since our opening, however, 2018 saw many big firsts for the Bixie team. Join us on a trip down memory lane, as we look back on the year that was…
2018 marked the very first Bixie International Education tour, with four of our hair stylists travelling across Europe to deliver expert hair colouring and styling seminars to numerous salons across the continent. The team held workshops in London, Leicester and Amsterdam, sharing the Bixie signature colouring and styling techniques with some of the best and brightest in our industry.
If this wasn’t achievement enough, Sheree and the team decided later in the year to take the Education tour on the road again to travel to Perth, Melbourne and Adelaide to present to three sold out workshop shows! We’re not sure how these travel bugs didn’t operate in a constant state of jet-lag for the better part of 2018!
Sheree’s year of achievements did not slow down there, as she was named a judge on the L’Oreal 2018 Colour Trophy Panel, was named a member of the REDKEN ‘Blondage Army’ Team, once again travelled around Australia with REDKEN on the Pastel SEQ ‘Candy Shop’ Tour, and in October, presented her colour techniques as a part of the REDKEN creative team at the Australian REDKEN ‘Get Inspired‘ convention in Sydney. Talk about a busy woman!
We shared many achievements as a salon too in 2018. We not only received our AHC Salon Select Green accreditation (yay!), but we also partnered for the second year in a row with Foil Me Foils and turned our hairdressing salon pink in celebration of Pink Day to help raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, helping to raise $14,000!
Sheree alongside our brilliant Megan McAulay and Ali Hooper were also lucky enough to be asked to join THE SECRET FOX in their first ever live education webinars, presenting in both February and November last year to global audiences!
We achieved a lot at Bixie over 2018, and while we look back on the year fondly and with pride, we have already set our sights on bigger and better things for 2019! Stay tuned in to see what we get up to next!
