Trends often come full circle, and in 2024, it seems that bangs and fringes are shining bright back in the spotlight. This iconic hair trend is a Bixie colour FAVOURITE, so let's dive into why bangs and fringes are back and explore the benefits of these face-framing styles!
Firstly, what’s the difference between a bang and a fringe? A bang is an American term for a fringe, not the kind of bang that you were thinking of! (LOL)
One of the reasons for the comeback of fringes is their versatility. From blunt fringes, side-swept fringe, or curtain bangs, there's a style to suit every face shape and personal aesthetic.
Fringes effortlessly & instantly transform any hairstyle, adding depth and texture. So if it’s a change you’re looking for without chopping your long luscious locks off into a short bob, a fringe is calling you!
So which one should you choose? Let’s break them down!
Face Framing: Face framing is like the into to a fringe. They will do an amazing job at framing the face, drawing attention to your features and working with your natural face shape to enhance. They ha power to soften angular jawlines, balance prominent foreheads, and highlight your eyes, creating a flattering and youthful appearance. Face framing fringes have the magical ability to enhance your facial structure and add dimension to your overall look.
Blunt bangs: Blunt bangs are bold and make a statement. Blunt bangs are cut straight across the forehead creating a sharp line from eye to eye. They are a quick way to offer an instant refresh and turn you into a new babe! Did we mention they can be a little high maintenance though! To keep these in shape, you will need to be trimming regularly.

Curtain bangs: Curtain bangs make long hair look sexy. There! We said it! Like draped curtains for a window they bring softness and balance to your face, accentuating your eyes and cheekbones. For long hair babes looking for a bit of a change but don’t want to commit to nineties layers.
So now I have my new bangs, how do I style them? We’ve got you covered!
The thing wth bangs is they are rarely wash and go! They do require a little love.
We recommend after washing your hair, that you blowdry your bangs straight away. Once they start to air dry, they’ve already started taking shape and can be impossible to restyle without wetting down again. You do not want your bangs drying in all crazy angles
Use a little product to help set your fringe in shape.
Our fav’s are the Natalie-anne Hair Care Prep & Play Cream and a light spray of Lived In Texture Mist. This will help set your fringe in place as you tackle your day or evening.
